Documentary Authors
Wisdom Anthologies applies deep listening to every interaction with the matriarchs. Many of these women feel that their story is not worth being told because, to them, they have led ordinary lives of no interest to anyone in particular. We believe that when a woman, or any human for that matter, can tell her own story she is restored as the author of her own life and claims authority within her community and family. Our documentaries of photographs, audio recordings, essays, books, and videos reclaim the Authority of Wisdom––the feminine way of knowing, of living for every woman. Their stories matter to us, to the world’s entire population.
Personal Ceremony & Ritual
In addition to documenting the matriarchs, Wisdom Anthologies guides each woman and her family through the process of creating a gathering where family and friends come together to honor and call her into her role as Matriarch. The Matriarch Ceremony can be as lighthearted, meaningful, and transformative as the Matriarch envisions. She creates, guides, and sustains her family and community. She invites neighbors and relatives to join her to celebrate her life in its entirety, and gives her blessings to all whom she loves and wishes to keep near her as she approaches the final threshold of life in the upcoming years, months, and days.
Intergenerational Community Gatherings
Wisdom Anthologies hosts and curates monthly gatherings where women from all generations (Maiden, Mother, Matriarch) come together to learn from and support each other in Wisdom, love, and nourishment. Every gathering ends with a brief portrait session of each individual who attends.
Interpersonal Interviews
We produce an hour-long conversation you want to have with your beloved Matriarch: your grandmother, your neighbor, your sister, your mother. Who do you want to interview for an hour? We’ll record the interview, both audio and video, and create a beautiful production for you to share with anyone you please.
