The Wisdom Anthologies Approach

We go beyond a simple portrait session and interview. The magic happens at The Gathering. After we produce the portraits, the audio, the videos, and the books, we’ll gather the Matriarch’s nearest and dearest relations and neighbors. Together we will honor, celebrate, and commit to be in relationship with her as she lives out her last years, months, and days. This gathering will initiate all into a culture of Wisdom, led by the Matriarch. Each woman designs her ideal gathering with her beloved family and community. This is her Wisdom, her moment to celebrate the life she is living.

Individuals Weave the Particular Into the Universal

Each woman’s life has particular nuances that make her story worth illuminating. The audio, video, and photographs will be woven into different formats depending on her desire and vision of where and how she wants her story told. Her story is powerful, transformative, and holy. We honor her wishes and those of her family and friends. We’ll work with each woman and her friends and family to determine how to best document, produce, and weave her life’s story into tangible records and relics for her, her family, and her community. Everything is possible:

•Books & Anthologies
•Photographs
•Video Documentaries
•Audio Recordings

Ongoing Integration & Interaction

Wisdom Anthologies helps the members of the Matriarch’s family and community integrate the Matriarchs in an ongoing effort into the daily rhythms of life.

WA will work with schools to create programming that facilitates classes for Matriarchs where they are part of the teaching and learning process with students. Students can practice teaching the skills and knowledge they are gaining with the Matriarchs, and the Matriarchs can offer their life-time skills and knowledge in return.

WA works with communities to help them create regular intergenerational gatherings the keep the connection with the Matriarchs deep, strong, and meaningful. These include Intergenerational Dinners, Intergenerational Discussions, Intergenerational Storytelling, etc.
